The first records made by Helen Merril were around 1950 and she cut well over a dozen albums of mainly the Great American Songbook without ever troubling a chart.
As a jazz singer she was as good as anybody and most of her albums are on CD-all except this and her albums of folk and country.
Which is not of especial interest to me-her non CD ones are what count.
