The fact is Carl Perkins was only on the pop charts once but his influence stratched to Liverpool where a young George Harrison would learn from the Carl Perkins Dance Album which Sun issued after the hit.
Perkins would make many more albums and even made the country charts later in the 60s.
By the time the Beatles had covered some of the songs his career was greatly enhanced by his association with them.
Today there are nearly 100 CD reissues which cover his work for over a dozen labels
