Unlike Paul McCartney there was no attempt by Ringo to dabble in New Wave sounds. After his brief association with Disco it was a case of getting back and the albums in the 80s would show how Ringo always needed plenty of superstar supporters.
The Old Wave one of 1983 came out at a time when Ringo product was't exactly all over the charts and he'd just been dropped by RCA but ended up as the distributors of this album issued on the Boardwalk label and released in 5 countries but not the U K or the States.
No company in America would sign the man who'd inspired more novelties than any other Beatle
Its not even as if the album was poor in any way-he covers the Sir Douglas Quintet's SHE'S ABOUT A MOVER-a song modelled in the first place on the Beatles' She's a woman and for what its worth the producer was an ex Eagle
It only turns up nowadays on unofficial CDs
