The link between the Beatles and the Crickets was forged as far back as 1958 when the Quarrymen recorded a custom disc of That'll be the Day.They even became the inspiration for the name change to Beatles.
Sonny Curtis was not an original Cricket but a member of this ever changing lineup by 1962 when their hit Don't ever change was covered by the Beatles via the BBC Sessions.
Curtis was in the UK in 1963 and recorded this early Beatles tribute in England after which it was issued by Colpix in the States.
The Crickets themselves were influenced enough later by the Beatles covering 4 of their hits and revamping La Bamba to sound like Twist & Shout
