
Right from Day 1 they were churned out at a rapid rate but it was America who went overboard on the idea.
In the U K the George Martin Orchestra cut their first album in 1963 and this was possibly the first of its kind.
Unlike Martin however who was able to make an album on the strength of the Beatles connection the American orchestras like those of Percy Faith it was an added boost-few orchestras had chart hits but were mainly album artists.
Capitol were milking the Beatles for all they could during the 60s with at least 4 volumes of the Beatles Songbook by the Hollyridge Strings-session musicians who remained faceless.
Easy Listening Beatles is not really a priority with me as a Beatles covers collector-unless they have good sleeves. The Hollyridge and Faith ones HADN'T
If this kind of thing had to survive the sleeves had to be better and this one shows at least some imagination having been modelled on the very photo of the first U K Beatles album.And suddenly Easy Listening Beatles was no longer faceless when many solo stars moved in
