
The Vernons Girls from Liverpool were the first to put a Scouse accent on the pop charts with 1962's You know what I mean-a line remembered by Paul McCartney when he wrote I saw her standing there.
The original group was actually a choir formed by Vernons Pools and eventually splintered into many smaller groups like the Carefrees who were the first to chart with a Beatles novelty in the States in 1964-We love you Beatles.The Vernons Girls recorded the similar titled We love THE Beatles
