Doing the Ressurection Shuffle

The Remo 4 went through many lineup changes after their 1958 founding and never had a hit single under their own name.As the backing group for Tommy Quickly the closest they came was with one of his singles The wild side of life.
By that time 2 later members went to the States with Pete Best as half of the Pete Best 4 where they made a number of singles for an Indie label one of which was a cover of the Remo 4's cover of the Olympics' I wish that I could Shimmy like my sister Kate.
In 1968 the Remo 4 were chosen by George Harrison to play on the Wonderwall album and the one vocal track IN THE FIRST PLACE was shelved to finally appear on CD in the 2000s.
1972 saw a trio called Ashton Gardner & Dyke who hit with Resurrection Shuffle, two thirds of which had been founder members of the Liverpool group who were immortalised in a song on their first album- The Ballad of the Remo 4
