The Beatles-a support act on the Helen Shapiro tour, had just seen their first album released and Helen had just returned from Nashville where this album was the result.
As her standing in the States was pretty low and her singles had all bombed-though Walkin' back to Happiness managed to scrape the Hot 100-she was given a heap of demos to learn from the slush pile which included the song "It's my party" and which EMI intended to issue as the 3rd single from the album but had to abandon the idea when Leslie Gore recorded the song probably via a publisher's demo in New York.
Not even an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show made much difference to a career which was winding down by 1964.
But her Beatles connections are priceless
